The ProGolfNow Golf Links column provides a quick way to get your Sunday morning golf news and stay on top of the game, wherever it’s being played.

We have final rounds on the European Tour, the LPGA and the PGA TOUR today, and on all three Tours Saturday involved some leaderboard volatility – that’s great for setting up some Sunday drama!

Sunday Final Round Drama

Saturday at the Nordea Masters Chris Wood started the day trailing Jamie Donaldson’s lead by four shots, but successfully battled against the gusting Malmö winds and finished the day one shot clear of Renato Paratore and Benjamin Hebert.

Henrik Stenson’s fans are standing strong for the local favorite, even though he’s well down the board and going into the final round at one-over par.

If you missed the 3rd round action, enjoy Saturday’s highlights.

Wood is well-positioned going into Sunday’s final round but he needs to watch his back. Matt Fitzpatrick is lurking four shots back, as is Alexander Lévy – they’d both like to go into the 117th U.S. Open with a fresh win! You can catch the Nordea Masters final round action on Golf Channel this morning beginning at 7am ET.

Pink Panther fans, rejoice! At the ShopRite LPGA Classic Paula Creamer, who wasn’t on anybody’s radar, has put together two splendid rounds and is going into Sunday sharing a two-shot lead with I.K. Kim over Moriya Jutanugarn, defending champion Anna Nordqvist, and Jeong Eun Lee. This thing isn’t over.

Creamer hasn’t been in contention for three years, so if you’re a fan you’ll enjoy these highlights of her 3rd round:

At the Memorial Jason Dufner couldn’t hold it together. Daniel Summerhays, Matt Kuchar, Bubba Watson, and Justin Thomas all got ahead of him. ProGolfNow’s Luke Norris recaps the 3rd round. So with Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth, and Kevin Kisner lurking Sunday at the Memorial has all the makings of a fairly exciting dogfight!

PGA TOUR Live coverage begins at 8:15am ET and runs all day. CBS is providing live television coverage of the final round beginning at 2:30pm ET.

Player News

Phil Mickelson has done it again. He’s put family before golf. Unfortunately, for Mickelson’s fans and maybe for Lefty as well, his daughters’ end-of-school ceremonial moments seem to conflict with the U.S. Open. And when that happens, Mickelson the Dad choses fatherhood over golf. He’s advised the USGA that he’ll likely withdraw from the 177th U.S. Open in order to attend daughter Amanda’s graduation. Do you think he’s ever going to win this one?

Bubba Watson has such class. Here’s how he dealt with a heckler at the Memorial today:

When asked about the incident after he’d completed his round, Bubba explained his responsive bow this way:

"Yeah, obviously, not a Bubba Watson fan. I’m taking a guess he wasn’t drinking water all day like I was. . . I don’t mind a heckler, but when kids are around and stuff, you try to be quiet about it if you’re going to use the wrong language."

Finally, who is Zac Blair and why should you care? Blair is a 27-year old – he’s a young 27 – who has conditional PGA TOUR playing status.

Blair’s favorite book – the Harry Potter series. His favorite movies are Forrest Gump and Remember the Titans. He wants to build a golf course in Utah called The Buck Club. (Will women be allowed to play The Buck Club? Will they want to?)

When Jack Nicklaus saw Blair in the hot tub in the player’s locker room at Muirfield Village, he asked Blair if his parents were around.

Blair’s going into the final round at the Memorial at two-over par and tied for 58th place. But watch for him. He’s wearing a pair of very slick golf shoes he bought on eBay:

You go, Zac! Those are spectacular kicks!

There is, thankfully, no tabloid Tiger Woods news as we close out the weekend. And Dustin Johnson has made no comment yet on the Erin Hills rough.
