St. Jude Classic: DraftKings picks for TPC Southwind

Boo Weekley — $6,500

He’s officially in the twilight of his PGA TOUR career, so this might be one of the last weeks when this fan favorite will be a halfway viable fantasy option. Yes, he’s played lackluster golf this season, but Weekley has continued to produce at TPC Southwind into his middle age, so he deserves some consideration this week.

Weekley has found the top 15 at the FedEx St. Jude Classic in each of the past two years, so the event has remained a bright spot on his schedule even as his play has begun to sour. He hasn’t missed out on the weekend in his last seven tries, so he should at least be able to log four rounds this week. This hasn’t been a very good campaign for him, but after making three of his last five cuts, his form is a little better than it was. While his short game has been abysmal, he still ranks 14th on the PGA TOUR in strokes gained: off-the-tee and 21st in strokes gained: approach-the-green.

Weekley isn’t a good choice for your one-and-done league, but if you’re looking to plug a hole in your front-loaded DraftKings lineup, he could be worth the investment. Available at just $6,500, you can hardly go any cheaper.
