2017 FedEx St. Jude Classic: Top 5 sleeper picks for TPC Southwind
Stewart Cink (OWGR – 172nd)
Stewart Cink is flat out one of the good guys on the PGA Tour, one you can’t help but root for. He’s been buoyed this year by his wife, Lisa, who has been battling breast cancer. As she’s been progressing in her treatment, Cink says, it’s allowed him to free up his play and it’s showing in this year’s results.

Cink has three top-25 finishes in his last four starts, and eight overall in 18 events. He’s in this week’s field on a career money list exemption, but if he continues this type of a run, it won’t be long before he finds himself back in the winner’s circle again.
Cink, like Uihlein, is also riding high on a successful U.S. Open qualifier this week. The 44-year-old joined a star-studded lineup in the Columbus, Ohio qualifiers on Monday, punching his ticket to Erin Hills and further freeing up his game. It’s hard to say that his game needs any “tuning up”, all things considered, but this veteran knows what he’s doing.
While he may not have the best track record here recently, Cink does have a top-five finish from 2004 on his resumé. Ranked 12th in greens-in-regulation and 14th in adjusted scoring, the conditions are right for Cink to make a big move this weekend.
