Of all the players on this list, Kyle Stanley is the one I’m most confident to remove himself from consideration, and soon. Sure, he’s ranked 93rd in the world, but that’s on a two-year sliding calculation that could get much more favorable to him very soon.

In 18 starts this season, Stanley has missed just three cuts. Over his last seven starts – dating back to the Shell Houston Open – Stanley is six-for-seven in cuts made (MC at the Dean & Deluca Invitational), with three top-10 finishes to boot.

At this year’s PLAYERS Championship, Stanley headed into Sunday’s final round with a share of the lead. Tied with J.B. Holmes at 9-under for the tournament, Stanley fell off the pace with a 75, opening the door for eventual champion Si Woo Kim, among others. More importantly, though, Stanley has consistently been putting himself into a position to be successful. That’s all you can really ask of these elite talents.

Stanley currently ranks second on TOUR in greens in regulation, as well as 11th in adjusted scoring. Although he’s had mixed results at the Travelers Championship (three made cuts in seven tries), Stanley simply is playing too well this year not to close one out eventually. TPC River Highlands should suit that need just fine.
