Billy Horschel’s win at the AT&T Byron Nelson brought his PGA TOUR victory count to four. That seemed to put an end to a missed cut binge. He followed that with with a pair of top-5s at the FedEx St. Jude and the CVS Health Charity Classic.

Other than his T4 at the 2013 U.S. Open at Merion, Horschel doesn’t have much of a track record at the majors. Royal Birkdale is his first start at a major this season, but he’s not without experience playing in the major championship pressure cooker environment and his playing stats are, for the most part, in the positive numbers.

Horschel isn’t an especially sexy fantasy pick, but he’s a solid player who can be depended to come through with the clutch shots when it counts. I look for him to deliver for the team.
