Shanshan Feng is coming to Dundonald Links fresh from a T5 finish at the U.S. Women’s Open and a sturdy, reliable game that transitions easily from one venue to the next. She’s one of the most versatile players in the women’s game.
With a win at the Volvik Championship, a pair of top-20 finishes, and her standout play at Bedminster driving her, Feng looks to be heading for a second 2017 victory.
For a player who’s no better than an average driver of the ball, Shanshan has a remarkable record of getting to the putting surface ahead of the competition. She ranks 9th on the Tour in GIR. That’s exactly the kind of game that will get her into contention and keep her there this week.
And again, for a player who’s no better than average in her putting stats, she ranks 16th on the Tour in both overall scoring average and rounds under par.
I’m looking for Shanshan to outperform just about everybody in the field this week, with the exception of So Yeon Ryu.
