Among sports trophies the game of golf has the best, from the Green Jacket to the gigantic Wanamaker Trophy. How about owning your own little slice of golf greatness, a replica of the fabled Claret Jug?

The Claret Jug has gone to Texas until the field gathers at Carnoustie.

For the second straight year, The Open Championship was an instant classic, with Jordan Spieth and Matt Kuchar dueling it out all week. If you were excited after watching such great golf, you may actually be able to hoist a Claret Jug yourself.

Still, it’s good to keep things in perspective. Jordan Spieth isn’t the first Texan to win the Claret Jug, only the most recent.

Trophy Partner, a company that specializes in replicating world famous trophies, has a beautiful replica of The Open Championship’s hardware. It’s almost scary how similar it looks to the real thing.

Probably the coolest thing about it is, there’s a base for the trophy. On that base, you can put any text on there you want.

So, if you’re hosting a golf event, you could put Tournament Champion on it. If you want to put it up in your office or home, you can get a little more creative.

Perhaps you can call yourself Champion Coffee Drinker of the Year.  Whatever the case, it’s pretty cool when you get a chance to own a replica of something so legendary.

Another neat thing is, there’s a size chart. Maybe you don’t want to go full size, if not, you can go with 10″ which is the smallest. If you’re thinking big and bold, 14.25″ is the one for you.

Back to the personalization, you can add up to four custom lines, so you can really get creative.

The Open Championship may be over for another year, but cool replicas like these are a great way to keep us close to the events we love. Who knows, it could be a great trophy to battle over while you and your buddies try to replicate the duels at Royal Troon or Royal Birkdale.

If you intend to grab a little bit of the game’s trophy glory for yourself, you’ll want to be able to glibly talk about how the Claret Jug came to be the Open Championship trophy. It has to do with Young Tom and his third consecutive Open victory.
