This event has been around since 1968 under various different names, dates and venues in Mississippi. It’s been an official PGA Tour event since 1994 and has primarily served as an alternate field event opposite a WGC or major.

The tournament’s latest iteration has kept it at the Country Club of Jackson since 2014. It’s been known as the Sanderson Farms Championship since 2013.

The Country Club of Jackson opened in 1914 and was most recently redesigned in 2008 by John Fought. Fought’s resume includes designing Pumpkin Ridge in Oregon and he restored Pine Needles in North Carolina.

The parkland style course measures 7,284 yards for a par 72. It has a Donald Ross feel with small, sloping greens.
