Not all pro golf fans monitor the college game closely, but it doesn’t take too much research to find that Aaron Wise is a name to keep an eye on.

The former individual and team champion at the University of Oregon left college early to pursue a professional career, and it’s going pretty well so far. Wise, 21, won last year on the Canadian circuit and placed top-20 in the John Deere Classic and Shriners Hospitals for Children Open as part of a handful of sponsors exemptions he received.

Wise continued to win at every level he’s played on with a victory on the Web.com Tour’s Air Capital Classic in June. Now equipped with a PGA Tour card, Wise is coming off of a T25 at the Sanderson Farms Championship and a T32 last week at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

Wise can smoke the ball.  He averaged 315.3 yards off the tee last year on the Web.com Tour and was first in eagles and 14th in birdie average.

He received a sponsor’s exemption into last year’s OHL Classic where he tied for 55th. Wise was near the lead after an opening 65 before falling back. Oh yeah, he also went ace-eagle on the front nine on Thursday.

This week will be the first time in a while that Wise has played three weeks in a row in a year, so we’ll see how the youngster adjusts to grinding it out as a pro.
