PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL – MARCH 01: Patrick Reed waves the ball after making birdie on the 16th hole during the continuation of the third round of The Honda Classic at PGA National Resort /

Patrick Reed has had solid results in his four trips to the Honda Classic. Save for a missed cut in his last start in 2016, Reed has done well to notch two top-25s and another made cut.

He was in contention in 2015 before a Sunday 73 dropped him to a tie for seventh.

The types of results Reed’s at in Palm Beach Gardens resemble his recent form. Solid, but nothing to put him over the top.

The 27-year-old picked up top-25s at the Farmers Insurance Open and Waste Management Phoenix Open and missed the cut his last time out at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

His short game has improved this season from 45th to 21st so far this season. Reed likely won’t lead the field in driving accuracy this week, but he’s due to improve from 210th on Tour in that statistic. If he can find the short grass just at a Tour average rate, those top-25s will turn into top-fives and wins once again.
