Thorbjorn Olesen appears to be the clear favorite this week. The Dane won the Rolex Series event the Italian Open in June and has five total top-10s.

Since that Italian Open win, Olesen finished T2 at the BMW International Open, T6 at the Irish Open, T12 at the Open, T3 at the WGC-Bridgestone and T56 at the PGA Championship.

Olesen’s stats are pretty balanced so far this season. He’s been a good scrambler (32nd) and solid with the irons (56th in strokes gained on approaches).

He’s a birdie-making machine (15th with 4.31 per round) and can go very low if his game’s on point. Even a “B” effort could get the job done.

Olesen is in contention for a European Tour Ryder Cup spot. A win here could help his cause in the final hours.

Let’s just hope his luggage snafu gets taken care of.
