In his 200th start on the European Tour, Paul Waring reached another milestone last week: Notching his first European Tour win.

The 33-year-old Englishman outlasted Thomas Aiken in a playoff to win the Nordea Masters.

The win seemed to come out of the blue. Waring missed four of his previous five cuts but did show good form earlier this season.

Right before that stretch, Waring made five cuts in a row including three top-20s.

He’s also played Albatross twice and finished T19 in the inaugural Czech Masters in 2014.

Waring is not the most accurate off the tee but he may be able to get away with it this week. With a decent amount of distance and above average marks in approach statistics, we could see Waring ride the wave a bit longer.
