Ryder Cup: Who captain Thomas Bjorn should choose for Team Europe
He might not have the boat load of experience like the rest of the golfers on this list, but Rafa Cabrera-Bello played well in his Ryder Cup debut at Hazeltine, so he would not be new to the event. Bello was paired with fellow Spaniard Sergio Garcia, and their pairing went undefeated, winning two matches and coming away with two and a half points overall.
A case could be made for Garcia to make the Ryder Cup team over Cabrera-Bello because he has a much larger body of work at the event and more experience overall, but Rafa has been the better player this season from start to finish, he currently ranks right on the automatic qualifier borderline in ninth place in world points and Garcia is not in the top 12.

Bello wants to make the team so badly that he has sought out advice from Bjorn directly on what tournaments to play in down the stretch to make the team. He will tee it up at the Northern Trust this week in one final attempt to get into the top eight and automatically qualify for the team so he does not have to rely on Bjorn to make him a coaches selection.
There is one more PGA tour event to qualify off of the World Points list and two more events to qualify off the European points list, and for these players to sway Thomas Bjorn’s decision. Yet at this point in the game he probably already has a good idea of who he is going to choose.
One thing is for sure, and that is Bjorn has a very difficult call to make and some one is going to be upset that they did not make the cut. However, he can not let emotions get in the way because he will need the best 12 men playing at the top of their game to take back the Ryder Cup from the U.S. in Paris.
