It’s hard to go against a guy who’s won two weeks in a row. DeChambeau has now won four times in his first 70 career PGA Tour starts and is now a sure thing to represent the red, white and blue at Le Golf National in a few weeks.

DeChambeau is 28-under combined at his wins at the FedEx Cup Playoffs’ first two legs, which he won by six combined shots.

Considering how shaky he looked on the range at the Open Championship and then when he fell apart at the Porsche European Open, his fortitude is admirable.

"“I don’t think it was a meltdown. I was just frustrated on the driving range, come on guys,” DeChambeau said after his win last week. “Look, I was at a different level at that point in time relative to last year at this time. I was still hitting the ball in the fairways, but it wasn’t up to my standard. And so I was trying to figure out why it wasn’t up to my standard. I built something really, really consistent in the beginning of the year and I kind of lost it. Kind of got lucky finding it. And now I’m starting to understand why I was so good in the beginning of the year. And that’s kind of a scary thought for me, at least, because it shows what I can do, and especially with the last couple of weeks. It’s a good combination.”"

DeChambeau had all facets of his game firing last week. He hit 75 percent of fairways and greens and gained more than four strokes on the greens.

On the season, he’s seventh on Tour in strokes gained tee to green and 26th in putting. He’s also 15th in par-4 scoring and seventh in birdie average.

If you believe in the hot hand theory, go ahead and keep riding DeChambeau one more week for the BMW Championship.
