Tiger Woods will play both host and competitor this year at his signature event, the Hero World Challenge. An all-star field has already been invited to the event, and fans willing to pay a premium will be offered an experience unlike any other on the PGA TOUR.

Tiger Woods’ tournament officials have announced the initial 16 players who have been invited to the post-Thanksgiving event, the Hero World Challenge, which begins Nov. 29.  There are two more invitations that will be sent between now and the start date, bringing the total number of players to 18.

World No. 1 Justin Rose tops the field that includes Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Rickie Fowler to name just a few.  Invitations go to the winners of the year’s majors, the defending champion, and other top ranked players.

Woods will play in the event after winning his 80th tournament, the Tour Championship.  No one should be surprised if he is in contention.

“Obviously it’s not a full-field event, but the 18 guys that are here I feel like we’ve all earned our way here,” last year’s champ Rickie Fowler told media after winning. “No one gets here by mistake.”

Last year Fowler noted the importance of playing with elite players like Woods at home in Jupiter, Florida.

"“I think, a big advantage versus playing with guys that aren’t at the same level,” Fowler explained . “You can get some good matches and challenge yourself when you’re playing with some good amateurs, you’re giving them two, three, four shots a side, but it’s the real deal when you’re playing against some of the best players in the world and arguably one of the best players that’s ever played our game, especially when it comes to winning.”"

Other PGA Tour players who will be in the event so far include:

Tommy Fleetwood, Jason Day, Xander Schauffele, Tony Finau, Bubba Watson, Patrick Reed, Webb Simpson, Alex Noren and Hideki Matsuyama.

The price?  A mere $5000.

The second Premium Package is one that gives you up close access to players by being inside the ropes. There are packages for two for $5000. No information on whether that is one day or all four.

However pricey, you have to admit, either one of those would be memorable experiences.

A limited number of one day tickets are available for $50 each.  Crowd size will also be limited.
