I’ve yet to meet a man of whom the following hasn’t been said: What the heck are we getting him this year? If the man in your life is a golfer, look no further. The 2018 Valentine Gold Heart℠ (I told you I was committed to building this brand!) Holiday Gift Guide is here.

Some of these products I have. Others I’ve been admiring from afar. All are sure to please. Regardless of the price, there is something on our holiday gift guide to suit you.

You’ll note there are no clubs on this list. Buying clubs is a bit dangerous as most golfers like to demo clubs before they buy. If you want to give a new driver or putter to someone, get them a gift certificate and a fitting session. They will be excited, I promise.

So let’s dive in! In no particular order, here are my Top 10 great golfer gifts for this holiday season from our holiday gift guide.

Tin Cup

Tin Cup makes fun, cool icon templates that you trace and color on to your ball to create a personalized identification mark. There are dozens of designs to choose from or you can create a custom design of your own. Either way, a Tin Cup will give him a one-of-a-kind mark that will make the rest of his foursome jealous. Add a little pack of multi-colored Sharpies for extra credit.

Personalized items from Golfballs.com

This is an oldie, but a goodie. Word of caution: if you don’t know what brand of ball he plays, splurge and get Titleist Pro Vs. No golfer ever complained about getting a dozen of these perfect pills.

The best personalization service I’ve found is Golfballs.com. It’s rare that you can find every brand of ball at the lowest prices and oodles of customization options. Golfballs.com delivers on both.

Put your own logo on it, a monogram, a photo, words, alignment aids, you get the idea. Be sure to explore their deep library of pics and icons, too. From a birth sign to a picture of President Gerald Ford (I’m not kidding), these guys have made ordering and designing a custom ball about as easy as it can get.

Criquet Apparel

Is your golfer looking more like Carl Spackler than Karl Lagerfeld? If a style intervention is called for, start at Criquet. This Austin, Texas-based outfitter hits the mark with their laid-back, classic clothing designs made with the latest technical fabrics.

Every golfer could use some unique apparel, and Criquet is the place to go to mark that item off your holiday gift guide.

You should note that Luke Wilson is the corporate ambassador. That’s all you really need to know, isn’t it? This brand is cool, approachable, and a little quirky. Perfect for the golf course or the 19th hole. From blazers to golf shirts, this may become his new favorite brand.

Bushnell Rangefinder

OK, you want to take it up a notch! I like that. Let’s get that Gold Card out because this is going to hurt a little.

Guys LOVE gadgets. A new rangefinder from Bushnell will hit the bullseye for your tech-minded golfer.

You may be thinking, “My husband isn’t very good at golf. Does he really need one of these?”

Heck yes, he does! If you’re always in the fairway it’s easy to find your yardage. Rangefinders are particularly helpful to spray and pray players like me – courses typically don’t mark yardages from the middle of the forest.

If he’s also a hunter, this is an even better gift. A Bushnell rangefinder will have him dialed in whether he’s shooting bucks or birdies.

Custom Golf Shoes from FootJoy

Does your golfer have a pair of golf shoes? Great, they need another one. I have four. I’m reminded of this constantly by my wife. My response? “Cold weather, wet weather, hot weather, and walking. These are all real golf shoe sub-categories in my world. I need to fill each.”

Don’t look any further than the gold standard in golf shoes – FootJoy.

With their online custom design studio, there is no excuse to complain about his ugly golf shoes anymore. Choose your colors and add a monogram or icon to the heel. It’s a blast just to play around with the design tool.

They make it easy to fill out your holiday gift guide, as FootJoy gives you a number of models to choose from making it relatively affordable to design your own one-of-a-kind gift.

Smathers & Branson Needlepoint Belts and Hats

How about some serious old-school style? Needlepoint belts and golf are joined at the hip. (I’m sorry, I had to.) Some folks even refer to these belts as “Golf Belts”, but they will add a ton of personality to your get-up wherever you wear them.

Unless your Gam-Gam loves to needlepoint, you’ll probably have to just buy one. Smathers & Branson is the place to do it.

If a belt is a little out of your price range, look at the hats, fobs, and can coolers. And they have much more than just golf designs. I guarantee there is a motif that fits with the hobbies and personality of your golfer. Any way you go, it’ll be a holiday gift home run.

Sun Mountain 4.5 LS 14-Way Stand Bag

No, that’s not Coach Andy Reid’s favorite pass play. That’s the full, and horrible, name of one of the best golf bags on the market.

Sun Mountain is the Footjoy of golf bags. It’s what they focus on, what they do well, and their designs reflect a deep understanding of a golfer’s needs. So why this particular model?

Some bags are designed for carts and some are designed to be carried. The 4.5 LS is a perfect blend. It features a roomy 14-way divider which means your clubs won’t get tangled up. The double shoulder strap and stand mean this bag is equally at home on your back or on the cart.

So if your favorite golfer has a ratty old bag with scuffs and broken zippers, a new bag is a great idea. If the 4.5 LS isn’t quite right, browse the Sun Mountain collection, you’ll find the perfect fit for their game.

Bonus Idea:

If you belong to a club or your golfer plays at a particular course, the Pro Shop there is a great place to shop. You can also buy lessons, new club fittings, or just a gift certificate. It all works for the golf junkie. No matter what you get from the holiday gift guide, Happy Holidays!
