My player to watch for the rest of the season, and going into next season, is Cameron Tringale. Tringale was quietly been playing some very good golf since April and looks to finish out the season at a strong pace.

Cameron Tringale has finished 14 of his 18 tournaments this season even or under par, and if it wasn’t for the state of Florida, which both tournaments he played he finished over par, it would be 14 of 16 tournaments even or under.

To put into perspective, Justin Rose has finished eight of his 12 tournaments, not counting the Dell Technologies Match Play Event, even or under par. Meaning Tringale has finished over par in a tournament the same amount of times as the number four ranked player in the world.

Tringale started his run by getting out of Florida, after disappointing showings at the Honda and Valspar, and shooting a -5 at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Country Club Championship to end the month of March.

He started his April in the Valero Texas Open, and posted a -10 for the tournament, finishing in a tie for 17th. He followed that up shooting a -20 at the Zurich Classic which placed him in a tie for 5th at the end of the weekend.

After starting the month of May getting cut at Wells Fargo, Tringale rebounded shooting a -12 at the Byron Nelson the next weekend, finishing in a tie for 23rd.

Tringale started the month of June tying for 11th at the Canadian Open and ended June with a tie for 5th two weekends ago at the Rocket Mortgage classic shooting a -17 for the tournament.

Although Tringale hasn’t won any of these tournaments, he is still on a pretty good run of golf. Along with those two top-five finishes, Tringale has made eight out of his last nine cuts, including making the cut this past weekend at the 3M.

Cameron Tringale finished this past weekend in Minnesota at -11, which was only a tie for 42nd, and moved him into 104th in the FedEx cup standings.

Tringale will go into this week at the John Deere Classic in a field that doesn’t contain any “superstars” of the sport, just a lot of quality players that don’t get the recognition, like Tringale. This may Tringale’s best chance to secure his first win on the PGA Tour, as we begin to wind down the season.

However, if Cameron Tringale doesn’t win this week, I still believe it will come sooner or later. The number of tournaments he is playing under par this season will eventually lead to a PGA Tour win, which I believe will come before the end of next season. If not this weekend, he could have two or three more solid chances to win this season before it all starts over again next season.
