Bernd Wiesberger followed up Friday’s 61 with a six-under-par round of 65 on Saturday to hold the 54-hole lead at the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open.

Wiesberger sits at -20, and leads the Scottish Open, the third Rolex Series event of the season, by two shots from a man he was tied with at halfway, South Africa’s Erik van Rooyen.

The World No.89 shot a 67 on Saturday, following a pair of 64s. His round of four-under sees him sit at -18, with Romain Langasque and Nino Bertasio a further two shots back at -16.

Five men sit five shots behind Wiesberger in a group at -15 which includes three Brits. Overnight leader Lee Slattery, along with fellow Englishman Matt Wallace, and Wales Jamie Donaldson are joined by Lorenzo Gagli and Adrian Otaegui in a tie for 5th.

Andrea Pavan makes it three Italians in the top ten, thanks to the low round of the day. His 62 saw him shoot up 55 places and into a tie for 10th with Henrik Stenson and Matthew Fitzpatrick, and the Italian was unaware he was even playing until late last night.

Eight men then sit seven shots behind the leader, including the leading American in Matt Kuchar. Tyrrell Hatton, Thomas Pieters and George Coetzee are all amongst that group at -13.

World No.9 Justin Thomas could only manage a round of 70 on Saturday, as he fell away from the leaders. The American sits at -12, eight back, alongside Ian Poulter, Edoardo Molinari and many more.
