Jon Rahm is one of the most consistent players on the PGA Tour, but do we really realize how great he has played this year?

Jon Rahm is without a doubt one of the top players in the world as he is currently ranked 6th in the world as well as the Fed Ex Cup standings going into the Tour Championship. However, Rahm doesn’t seem to get the recognition as some of the other top players.

Most of the casual golf fans are familiar with Jon Rahm but don’t associate his name with McIlroy’s, Koepka’s, and Johnson’s of the world, which doesn’t seem right. Some reasons for that could be Rahm has yet to win a major, and Rahm hasn’t won a solo PGA Tour event since 2018.

Taking a deeper look at Rahm’s 2019 season, it could be in consideration as being the best of any player on the tour. In his 19 PGA Tour events, this season Rahm has recorded an incredible 12 top ten finishes which is second only to Rory, who has 13. So, 63% of Jon’s events played on the PGA Tour this season have resulted in a top 10 finish.

In his last seven events played, 5 PGA Tour events and 2 Euro Tour events, Jon Rahm’s worst finish was a tie for 11th. Rahm started that run at the U.S. Open where he finished in a tie for third and went on to finish T2, 1, T11, 7, T3, T5 in the next six events including last weekend at the BMW Championship.

The win Rahm collected on the impressive run of his last seven events was at the Irish Open on the Euro Tour. Rahm shot an -8 Sunday to win that tournament over some pretty solid names including Rafa Cabrera-Bello and two-time major winner Martin Kaymer.

Rahm did collect a PGA tour win this season at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans when he was paired with Ryan Palmer during the team event.

Before Zurich Rahm collected his other top-ten finishes on the season at The Masters, Valspar, Genesis Open, Waste Management, Farmers Insurance Open, the Desert Championship, and Sentry Tournament of Champions.

Rahm is my pick to win the Tour Championship in Atlanta this weekend as I mentioned in our staff pick article because I feel he is due. After having such a great season, Jon Rahm is well-deserving of winning at East Lake to capture the Fed Ex Cup championship. With all the top-ten finishes and solid play throughout the calendar year, Rahm would solidify his name to all the casual golf fans who may not understand how good the 24-year-old Spaniard really is.
