The Fall swing of the PGA Tour comes to an end this week with the RSM Classic! Draftkings will provide the fantasy golf community with a large number of contests for this event.

Before I dive into my fantasy golf/Draftkings player selections, let’s briefly take a look at the RSM Classic’s format and the key statistics that I am focusing on for this tournament.

The first two rounds of the RSM Classic will have the entire field of competitors play two different golf courses. The two courses the field will play in the opening two rounds are the Plantation course and the Seaside Course at the Sea Island Golf Resort in Sea Island, Georgia.

After the completion of two rounds, the traditional cut will occur and the top 65 players and ties will move on to the weekend. The final two rounds of golf will be played exclusively on the Seaside course.

It has to be said that the Plantation course is the least difficult test. Traditionally, the field tends to post low scores on the Plantation golf course. In direct contrast to Plantation, the Seaside course is a far more difficult challenge.

Due to the fact the field only plays 18 holes on the Plantation course, I will skip going into detail on the specifics of that track. Let’s briefly look at the Seaside course that will see the majority of competitive golf this week. The Seaside course is a coastal track. The course’s main defense is the weather. When the weather presents strong winds, etc., scores tend to be much higher. However, when the weather is calm, PGA Tour players can perform very well on this golf course.

I should also note that the Seaside Course is a par 70 that measures 7,005 yards. Additionally, the golf course has nine water hazards and features Bermuda grass greens.

Based on my review of the statistics of golfers that have won the RSM Classic previously I think that if a golfer hopes to succeed at this event they will need to have a very strong ball-striking performance and putt very well on these Bermuda grass green complexes.

The key statistics I am focusing on this week are strokes gained approach, strokes gained tee to green, scrambling, and strokes gained putting.

Now let’s shift gears to what I love doing the most! Here is my fantasy golf/Draftkings picks for the RSM Classic!

Harris English $10,000

To be honest, I can’t believe Harris English is not gaining more attention with the media, the DFS community and golf fans. Frankly, I think it might be borderline disrespectful!

Ok, disrespectful is a bit harsh, but seriously Harris is playing some outstanding golf in this new PGA Tour season. Let’s take a look at English’s event results in the five events tournaments he has played since the new PGA Tour season began in September.

He began the new season with a third-place finish at A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier, he followed up that impressive result with a sixth-place result at the Sanderson Farms Championship. He then ended the month of September with a 33rd place finish at the Safeway Open in California.

In October, English only played one golf tournament, the Houston Open. English finished in a tie for fourth at the Houston Open.

Finally, after a break for rest, English returned to the PGA Tour at last week’s Mayakoba Classic where he finished in a tie for fifth.

Not surprisingly, English currently boasts some outstanding individual player statistics on the PGA Tour. He is currently ranked 13th in strokes gained tee to green, 24th in strokes gained approach, and eighth in scoring off the tee.

I also like the following players to perform well this week at the RSM Classic.

Brian Gay $8,800

He has three top 15 finishes in his last four PGA Tour events. After reviewing Gay’s previous career results, it is quite clear to me that the Florida Gator alum loves playing coastal golf courses.

Brice Garnett $8,300

Garnett finished like a train in last week’s Mayakoba Classic. Brice fired a final round 64 en route to an 11th place finish.

Ryan Armour $7,700

He finished eighth at the Bermuda Championship in October.

Robby Shelton $7,300

Mr. Shelton fired three rounds of 66 or lower in last week’s Mayakoba Classic on his way to a sixth-place finish.

Mark Hubbard $7,000

Hubbard had an impressive runner up finish at the Houston Open in October.
