The European Tour wraps up this week with the DP World Tour Championship.

The European Tour takes the spotlight away from the PGA Tour this week. It’s the final event of the season, and the DP World Tour Championship holds extra importance for the top five in the Race to Dubai standings.

Normally, we only bring you the staff picks for the PGA Tour events. This is one that we had to take part in though, as it is one of the most important golf events of the year.

There are only 50 golfers who qualified for this event. Unlike the PGA finale, not all of them can win the Race to Dubai. That honor comes down to just five, in Bernd Wiesberger, Tommy Fleetwood, Jon Rahm, Shane Lowry, and Matthew Fitzpatrick. There is plenty on the line for nearly everyone else in the tournament though.

There is $5 million available that will be split among the top five finishers in the Race to Dubai standings. With 2,000 points available to the winner of the DP World Tour Championship, enormous jumps in the standings are potentially available to the winner. If everything falls correctly, that means golfers down in the mid-to-low ’30s in the standings could win the event and vault up to 5th place.

We have plenty of coverage about the European Tour finale though, from power rankings, a fantasy golf preview, and a breakdown of how the top five can all win the Race to Dubai.

Surprisingly, two of the five who are able to win the Race to Dubai was not picked by our staff. Let’s get down to this article’s point, which is the staff picks for who they think is going to win the DP World Tour Championship.

Rory McIlroy

Eric Sedransk

Kathy Bissell

Bill Felber

West Valentine – For the DP World Tour Championship, I’m going to make the most obvious and safe prediction available – Rory McIlroy. Here’s why. He’s won it before, he’s playing really well, the course fits his game, and he’s a monster at Euro events that don’t include the best American players. It all adds up to a victory this week. Take it to the bank.

Jon Rahm

Matt Coles – It’s the season finale, and I’m going with Jon Rahm!

Cameron Salce – Taking Jon Rahm in the Euro finale.

Richie Randolph – I’ll go with Jon Rahm. The young Spaniard is dangerous every time he tees it up and will lock up a win in Dubai to close out the 2019 Euro Tour season!

Justin Rose

Kasey Kuhrts – For DP World Tour Championship I like Justin Rose. My reasoning… it’s Justin Rose.

Matthew Fitzpatrick

Chris O’Day – I’m going with the only guy who can still win the Race to Dubai that has yet to win a tournament this year. It’s a long shot that Fitzpatrick can win the whole thing, as he still needs some other chips to fall into place. I like the golf that he has been playing recently and am taking him to take home the DP World Tour and the Race to Dubai.

Bernd Wiesberger

Mike Randleman

Lee Westwood

Hans Geevers – Lee has played well at this tournament previously and I fully expect him to do so again this week.

Next. Akshay Bhatia has some work to do to make it to the PGA Tour. dark

Best of luck to everyone playing this week in the finale for the Race to Dubai at the DP World Tour Championship.
