The Fall swing of the PGA Tour is complete, and it’s time to take a look at some of the lowlights and worst rounds that have occurred so far during the 2019-20 season.

Earlier this week, I put together some of the highlights from the PGA Tour season so far. From the GOAT, to back-to-back wins, to multiple playoffs, we have had a plethora of interesting highlights so far, and only through 11 events.

I already went through that side of it though. Today, we are focusing on the opposite.

The lowlights. The shots, rounds, and occurrences that make you shake your head in disbelief.

One of my favorite things to watch growing up was blooper videos. It didn’t matter what sport it was (heck, it didn’t even have to be sports, although those were my favorites), but I was always intrigued and entertained watching people mess up.

Not because I enjoyed seeing people fail, mostly just because it was funny with a dash of unbelievability. Those professional athletes could fail, just like us common folk.

Which brings us to today’s article. It’s gonna be set up a little different than the previously mentioned highlight article. This one is going to mostly be about the worst rounds of the year. Oddly enough, it’s sort of difficult to find videos of bad shots that have happened on tour this year. If you have any, feel free to send them my way.

Let’s get down to it. Here are some of the lowlights that came to mind when talking about the early part of the 2019-20 PGA Tour season.

The Worst Rounds

Sure, it’s fun talking about the players who played great over the course of a weekend. Do you know what else is fun?

Talking about the guys who could not get it together.

I start off with one of my favorite golfers, Sepp Straka. My dude could not figure it out during round two of the recent RSM Classic. He played well on day one with a 69. Day two was much worse. Check out his non-par holes, in order of best to worst.

One Eagle. One Birdie. Five Bogeys. Two Doubles. One Quad.

That adds up to an 82. Ouch.

Do you know who one-upped him though? Well, technically I guess it would be two up. That would be Matt Wallace at the WGC-HSBC Champions event. Here are his scores for rounds one, three, and four. 69-70-69. Do you want to know what he finished for the week on the par 72 course?

Four over.

That’s because, on day two, Wallace shot an awful 84. While he managed one birdie, he also carded six bogeys, a double, and a quintuple bogey 10 on the par-5 8th hole. Definitely a round to forget.

Max Homa had a similar tournament to Wallace, although his happened at the CJ Cup. Like Wallace, he played well every day but during his second round. He shot 69-82-69-71 for the tournament. During the fateful second round, he carded one birdie, one double, and nine bogeys. That seems like a round of golf I would put together on a good day. Not one that a pro would shoot.

The last entrant on the list takes the cake for the worst round of the year so far on the PGA Tour. I don’t know what it is about these rounds, but they all happened during the second round of their particular tournament. This one is courtesy of Zach Sucher at the Houston Open.

After shooting 74 on day one, he had his work cut out for him to make the cut. Instead, he takes the mantle of the worst round of the year on the PGA Tour. He shot a 86.

Yup. 86.

No birdies, Two doubles, and ten bogeys would populate his card by the time he was done. If anything, at least he can be remembered for holding down the title of the worst round of the year so far.

Those are some of the lowlights and worst rounds so far on the PGA Tour this season.
