This week, the PGA Tour presents the fantasy golf community with the Sentry Tournament of Champions.

Before I discuss my fantasy golf and DraftKings player selections let’s look at my key statistics for this week and briefly discuss this tournament’s limited field.

The Sentry Tournament of Champions is a unique event that is held in Hawaii every year. To qualify for this tournament a player needs to have won a PGA Tour event the previous year. Unfortunately. several notable winners on the PGA Tour last year have decided to skip the first event of 2020. Due to the fact that multiple winners from last year will not be in the field, the Sentry Tournament of Champions will have a limited field of only 34 golfers.

The key statistics that I will be focusing on this week are GIR (greens in regulation), strokes gained putting and strokes gained around the green.

I should also mention that the weather forecast for Kapalua, Hawaii this week indicates high winds. I will be looking for golfers that have shown the ability to play at a high level in high winds as I compile lineups for my DraftKings contests.

Now let’s shift our focus to what I love doing the most! Here are my fantasy golf/DraftKings player selections for the Sentry Tournament of Champions!

Justin Thomas $11,200

If you are looking for a golfer in this week’s field that has outstanding course form and great recent form look no further, you have found that player in Justin Thomas.

Let’s first look at Thomas’s recent outstanding quality of play. Justin Thomas won the BMW Championship in August, finished fourth at the Safeway Open in September, won the CJ Cup at Nine Bridges in October and finished fifth at the Hero World Challenge in December.

It should also be noted that Thomas played very well at the Presidents Cup in Australia earlier this month. He finished the Presidents Cup with a record of 3-1-1.

As far as course form goes, Thomas certainly checks that box for me as well. Thomas has played the Sentry Tournament of Champions four consecutive years. In those four tournaments played, Thomas won the event in 2017 and finished third in 2019.

Gary Woodland $9,200

The 2019 United States Open champion finished second at the Sentry Tournament of Champions last year. Additionally, Woodland finished seventh at the ZOZO Championship in October.

Patrick Reed $9,000

The 2018 Masters Champions is an exceptional wind player. That ability is one of the main reasons I am backing him in this event. I also like the fact that Reed has shown the ability to win this event in the past. Reed won the Sentry Tournament of Champions in 2015.

Brendon Todd $8,100

I simply could not look past Todd’s name this week. He has two PGA Tour wins in his last three events played on Tour.

Max Homa $6,300

For my last selection, I am going to take a chance on Max Homa. He finished fifth at the Dunlop Phoenix, a tournament on the Japan Golf Tour in November.

As always, good luck with your fantasy golf selections this week for the Sentry Tournament of Champions.
