Next up on the PGA Tour schedule is the Waste Management Phoenix Open. With a strong field this week, who are the picks to win?

If you like golf, but also enjoy being loud and partaking in the occasional party, then the Waste Management Phoenix Open is the exact tournament you should be checking out.

It’s the rowdiest event in the golf world, and also the one that sees more attendees and spectators than any other tournament. Pair that with a fairly strong field, and it makes for a great week of golf.

As we do on the day leading up to each tournament, the staff here at Pro Golf Now brings you who they think will win the tournament. We almost got there last week, picking the 2nd, 3rd, 6th, and 9th place finishers. Unknowingly, we have taken the shotgun approach this week once again, with 11 players chosen between our 14 entries.

Let’s see if we can get you a winner this week. Here are the picks to win the Phoenix Open from our crew.

Jon Rahm

Ben Criswell

Mike Randleman – An excerpt from this week’s power rankings

"“Jon Rahm is in his adopted home state this week. The Spaniard and Arizona State alumna is back at the Phoenix Open, where he made a name for himself by finishing T-5 as an amateur in 2015 (70-68-66-68). That was only his second career PGA Tour start.”"

Nicholas Neila – I’ve got to roll with the favourite this week.  Jon Rahm comes into the event in great shape after narrowly missing out on a playoff last week at the Farmers.  More importantly, he is playing on home Arizona State turf at a course he has seen countless times with great success, recording T-10th, T-11th, and T-16th finishes in his three career PGA Tour appearances at TPC Scottsdale.  This is an event he circles on his calendar every year and I am looking for the massive home crowd to will him to victory.

Justin Thomas

Bill Felber – I’ll take Justin Thomas. I get it…totally chalk. But he’s won twice already this season, and except for the Sony, he’s always around the lead. Who’s a better bet than him?

Bryson DeChambeau

West Valentine – I just ripped him up a bit in an article. This is a peace offering. This is kind of the 2020 North American debut of Bryson DeTerminator. He’s huge, he has a chip on his shoulder, and he wants to make a statement.

Webb Simpson

Hans Geevers – Simpson arrives at this event in outstanding form. Webb also has great previous results at this event. Simpson finished second at the 2017 Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Hideki Matsuyama

Chris O’Day – Matsuyama is my pick this week, and I’m mostly basing it off of how he has played so far this year. T-3rd, 4th, 2nd, T-11th, T-12th. That was his five tournament stretch before a bit of a struggle at the Farmers last week. I think he gets back on track at the Waste Management and takes home his first win since 2017. OH! Did I mention that he actually won this event not only in 2017 but in 2016 as well?

He almost made it three years in a row but finished T-2nd in 2015. Clearly he likes playing here, and he is able to play quite well here as also. A T-4th in 2014 makes an incredible four year stretch for him here. I like him to forget about the Farmers struggles last week, and find his groove again at a tournament that he has constantly excelled at.

Rickie Fowler

Connor Schmidtke

Bubba Watson

Corey Klatt – He had a good showing at the Farmers and has played well at TPC Scottsdale in the past.

Kasey Kuhrts – Bubba played very well last week, and I believe he will take that momentum into Phoenix and get his first PGA Tour win since The Travelers in 2018.

Sungjae Im

Richie Randolph – I picked Im a few weeks ago; I love his game, his consistency and the moxie he showed at the Presidents Cup. A win is surely right around the corner!

Branden Grace

Matt Coles – Here’s hoping Grace can bring home a win for the European Tour regulars!

J.B. Holmes

Kathy Bissell

Harry Higgs

Eric Sedransk – Harry “Hole-High” Higgs will continue his solid play with a win in Phoenix and in the process create fans for life with his laid back, retro style.
