The only Englishman on this week’s Power Rankings is Sam Horsfield, who sits at 7th on our list ahead of the ISPS Handa Vic Open in Australia.

Although the World No.212 has not made the cut at the last two events of the ‘desert swing’, failing to make it to the weekend at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and the Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisors, Horsfield is still in a good run of form.

Before those two blips, the Englishman had made the cut at his last 14 events, culminating in a T12 result at the first Rolex Series tournament of the season, the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA.

The run started at the D+D Real Czech Masters in July, where he came home in a tie for 3rd. He then played seven straight tournaments on the European Tour, finishing inside the top 35 at all bar two, including a T10 result at the Scandinavian Invitation and a T14 finish at the Porsche European Open.

The Englishman is yet to score his maiden victory on the European Tour, but this could be a good week for him to do so. Having dropped back outside the top 200 in the Official World Golf Rankings, Horsfield will be aiming for something big to move back inside that mark, and further. Could he break that duck this week in Geelong?
