ISPS Handa Vic Open

The most recent event of the 2020 campaign, and the last before this week off, was the ISPS Handa Vic Open, where another Australian took his maiden European Tour victory.

Min Woo Lee came home to win the event by two shots, as he was the only man in the field to post sub-70 across the board in Geelong last week.

13th Beach GC played host to the event, with the majority of the field coming from either Australia or New Zealand, in what was a tournament that saw both men and women feature on the same course, with the Ladies European Tour also playing their Victoria Open at the same time.

Min Woo went into the final round of the men’s event with a three-shot lead, having looked comfortable at 13th Beach all week. He went on to take victory by two on Sunday afternoon to follow in his sister’s footsteps, with Minjee Lee having won the women’s event twice before.

With the victory, the Aussie made the move up to 11th on the Race to Dubai leaderboard, with the top five remaining the same. Lucas Herbert, another Australian, was the only member of that top five to take part, moving slightly closer to Lee Westwood at the top of the standings.
