The PGA Tour heads out to Florida this week for the Honda Classic, which means it’s time for some fantasy golf.

Last week, the PGA Tour and the European Tour came together to play the WGC-Mexico down at Chapultepec, leading to a talented and diverse field. This week, they are each back to their own tours, meaning we are back to a regular size event at this week’s Honda Classic. What this means is that we will have a standard field to pick from for our fantasy golf picks this week.

Last week’s field made it a bit difficult to stand out with your fantasy golf choices seeing as there were only 72 players in the field. The Honda Classic has twice that, which should help to diversify the choices you are able to make.

Ever since moving to PGA National is 2007, the field in this tournament has been a lot stronger. It used to move around quite a lot, and players would choose to skip the event, instead prepping for some of the high visibility events that lay ahead in the next five to six weeks. This makes 14 years in a row at PGA National, and we once again have a fairly deep field.

Each week, we head over to DraftKings to make our picks. As a reminder, they allocate a salary to each player, and you are given $50,000 to make six selections from. Here are our fantasy golf picks for the Honda Classic.

Justin Rose – $9,900

Rose doesn’t often play at the Honda Classic. He last played in 2015, missing the cut. The two times he played in it before that though, he dominated. He finished T-5th in 2012 and followed that up by finishing T-4th in 2013. After taking a week off, Rose looks to get back to form heading into his preparation for The Masters.

Sungjae Im – $9,300

Im has been playing a lot this season so far, as this will be his 13th event. It should come as no surprise that Im is playing so often, as he played 35 times last year. He has only missed one cut, playing quite consistently every week.

With three top tens, one of the lesser-known young guns will look to finish what he started at the Honda Classic. Last year, he started off shooting 70-64, only to falter over the weekend with a 77-71. I see him playing much stronger, and being in contention come Sunday.

Corey Conners – $8,200

At this point in the season, we have seen two sides of Corey Conners. There was the golfer, who in starts two through eight, finished in the top 20 every time. Then, there is the golfer who has finished T-45th, MC, 50th over his last three starts. I believe in the early season golfer, who played well week in and week out. I feel the case for strong value this week out of the mid-valued golfer, which is why I like Conners at the Honda Classic.

Emiliano Grillo – $8,000

There aren’t many who would’ve picked Grillo to play well at the Puerto Rico Open last week, as he was coming off of three straight MC’s. He surprised everyone, finishing T-3rd for his best finish of the season. He finished T-8th here two years ago, finishing out the weekend strong with a 69-66.

Brian Harman – $7,300

Harman has made the cut in nine of ten events this season, finishing in the top 25 in five of them. He’s provided more value on the year than his allocation this week would make you think, especially when you look at his SG stats. He is 60th off the tee, 66th on approach, and 53rd in putting. Even his worst stat, around the green, is only 107th, which isn’t too bad. That ranks him 34th overall in SG, giving him great value this week for fantasy golf.

Cameron Tringale – $7,100

Coming off entry into the loaded Genesis Invitational field in which he placed T-30th, Tringale has had a nice season so far. He’s made the cut in 10 of his 11 starts in large part to his approach play. He ranks 23rd in SG on those shots, giving him plenty of opportunities to score. As one of the lower valued players this week, you can be confident he will make the cut come Friday afternoon at the Honda.

Best of luck to everyone in their fantasy golf picks and to those at the Honda Classic.
