FanDuel presents the fantasy golf/DFS community with a large number of contests for the final round of the Honda Classic! Let’s take a look at the final round from a fantasy golf perspective!

Before I discuss my FanDuel player selections I want to clearly emphasize that this article is focused on the final round contest. The final round contest offered by FanDuel is vastly different with regard to scoring than the traditional classic contest FanDuel offers for fantasy golf.

For those readers that are not aware, the classic contest offered by FanDuel focuses on an entire golf tournament. In direct contrast to the classic contest, the final round FanDuel contest focuses on only one round. This article is specifically focused on the final round of the 2020 Honda Classic.

One keynote I need to point out is that you do not receive any additional points or bonuses for their overall finishing position in the FanDuel final round contest. This is based solely on how they perform during the final round.

Here are my FanDuel/fantasy golf player selections for the final round contest!

Tommy Fleetwood $11,800

Let me provide some clear facts to illustrate why I am leading my player selections for this final round contest with Mr. Fleetwood. Fleetwood has only played three tournaments (PGA and European Tours combined) in 2020. In those three events played this year, Fleetwood has three consecutive top 18 finishes, including a second place result at the Abu Dhabi Championship last month. Additionally, I love the fact that Fleetwood has played outstanding at the Honda Classic previously. To be more specific, Fleetwood finished fourth at the 2018 Honda Classic.

Shifting our focus to this year’s event, we can see that Mr. Fleetwood is continuing to show that he has no problems playing the Champions Course at a high level. At the end of the third round of the Honda Classic, Fleetwood is actually in first place at -5 with a one stroke lead.

It should also be noted that Fleetwood ranks second in this week’s field in strokes gained tee to green (9.1) through two rounds of competition. I think Fleetwood has a great chance to post the best final-round score of any golfer in the field in Sunday’s final round.

Gary Woodland $11,300

Woodland currently ranks 11th in scoring average (69.08) and 31st in birdie average (4.27) on the PGA Tour. These outstanding statistics illustrating Gary Woodland’s ability to score are just a few of the reasons I like Woodland in this final round contest.

The 2019 United States Open Champion has previously shown that he can certainly play well at the Honda Classic. More specifically, Woodland finished runner up at the 2017 Honda Classic. Having stated that, I fully expect Woodland to play well in the final round of this year’s Honda Classic!

Billy Horschel $10,900

Billy Horschel has played seven final rounds in the 2020 PGA Tour season. In those seven rounds just noted, Billy has played extremely well. Horschel currently ranks 20th on the PGA Tour in final round (68.43) scoring average. Additionally, the former Florida Gator has traditionally played well at the Honda Classic. I expect that trend to continue in the final round this week.

Daniel Berger $10,900

Berger is currently ranked 21st in scoring average (70.06) and 24th in birdie average (4.33) on the PGA Tour. Additionally, Berger has two consecutive top nine finishes on the PGA Tour, including a fifth-place result at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am earlier this month. Berger also ranks an impressive 29th in final-round scoring average (68.86).

Luke Donald $7,000

Donald obviously likes to play the Honda Classic! Donald has three previous top ten finishes at this event, including a seventh-place result in 2015. More importantly, Donald is playing very well in the 2020 Honda Classic. Through two rounds of play, Donald is currently tied for second place with a score of four under par.

If you select the five players I like in this article you will have $8,400 left to pick the sixth and final golfer for your unique fantasy golf/FanDuel final round lineup.
