All golfers are disheartened if they are in an area that has shut down in effect when it comes to golf. Those that are around Walton Heath Golf Club are even sadder now after a group of motorcyclists tore up the golf course.

For those around Surrey, England, those in the golf community are the recipients of some dire news that any golfer could align themselves with. The Walton Heath Golf Club was vandalized by some morons on motorcycles.

This isn’t just a random golf course either. It’s one of the top 100 in the world and has actually held some prestigious tournaments over the last few years.

They host the annual U.S. Open sectional qualifying tournament for England. Not only that, but they also held the 2018 British Masters.

In a time where many are stuck at home, unable to get out and enjoy the things that they love doing, it’s despicable and saddening to see people of such low intelligence out there tearing something up that so many people love and enjoy.

What could be going through their minds I can only imagine. I understand that sometimes, as a youth, you can get destructive and dumb ideas into your mind that can “seem” like a fun idea at the time.

I know that when I was in high school, or even just out of it, I didn’t always make the greatest decisions. Destroying property is over the top though, and is something that everyone should understand is unacceptable. These people were clearly adults and should know better. Even when I asked my four-year-old, he knows that it isn’t okay to break people’s stuff.

Hopefully, the damage that was done can be repaired in a timely manner, and in a way that doesn’t cost the course too much money. The only good part about this is that the course was in fact shut down, so they aren’t going to lose any more business than they already were by being closed. It should give them some time to get out there and fix it up, and hopefully open back up soon to play.

If you ever get the blockhead idea to go out and damage property, take a second and think again. It’s a terrible idea that is only going to hurt people. You’re likely going to get caught too and end up fined or in jail… which you deserve.
