Bryson DeChambeau is among the winners on the PGA Tour this week, as he won the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Winners and losers from this week are here

Each week on the PGA Tour, there are winners and losers in each tournament. This week, and continuing throughout the season, we will look at those who achieved and those who underachieved at each event. Here’s a look at the winners and losers from the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

Winners

Bryson DeChambeau – As the best player in the field this week, DeChambeau was favored to win. And win he did, coming from three shots back on Sunday to overtake Matthew Wolff and the rest of the field. This is now four straight top 10 finishes for DeChambeau since the tour restart. He moved to fourth in the FedEx Cup standings and shows no signs of slowing down.

Tyrrell Hatton – If not for the hot streaks from DeChambeau and Webb Simpson, there might be more talk about Hatton. He recorded another top five finish this week, his third in a row, as he tied for fourth place. He moved to 13th place in the FedEx Cup standings and is knocking on the door of taking his game to another level.

Danny Willett – The former Masters champion had a very nice week in Detroit, recording his first top 10 and top five finish this season on the PGA Tour with a tie for fourth. Prior to this week, Willett made missed as many cuts as he had made (four each) but he seemed to like his surrounding in Detroit this week. He also jumped 55 spots in the FedEx Cup standings from 191st to 136th.

Kevin Kisner – Another player who made a big jump in the FedEx Cup standings this week, Kisner finished alone in third for the week. This was Kisner’s best finish of the season and moved him up 32 spots in the FedEx Cup standings. Kisner remains one of the most solid, underappreciated players on tour.

Sepp Straka – The feast or famine season for the Vienna, Austria, native continued this week in Detroit. Straka has only made six cuts in 19 events this season, but he has made the most of his opportunities. In those six cuts made, Straka has three top 10s, including a tie for eighth at the Rocket Mortgage Classic this week. He moved up 17 spots in the FedEx Cup standings, where he’s currently 67th.

Losers

Patrick Reed – He entered this event ranked in the top five in the FedEx Cup standings and seventh in the world. However, this was not Reed’s week. He opened with a 2-under par 70 on Thursday followed by a pedestrian 72 on Friday. Reed not only missed the cut, he was three shots from making the cut. Not good for a player who was considered one of the favorites heading into the week.

Bill Haas – For a guy who needs to make up ground in the FedEx Cup points race, this was a disappointing week for Haas. Things started well for him with a 4-under par 68 on Thursday. However, he was derailed by a 3-over par 75 on Friday. If the former FedEx Cup champ wants to make the playoffs this season, he’s got some ground to make up, as he currently ranks 201st in this year’s standings.

Bubba Watson – It seems that Watson is offended by Bryson DeChambeau’s length off the tee. Watson spent much of this week trying to crush the ball off the tee rather than focusing on scoring. The end result? DeChambeau was in contention and Watson missed the cut. Looks like Bubba needs to focus on the task at hand.

Kevin Na – He was forced to withdraw from this week’s event, citing a back injury. Na opened with a 72 on Thursday, but could not make it through his round on Friday. Now, he has withdrawn from the Workday Charity Open this week. This appears to be something that Na will have to deal with for a while, which is never a good sign for any golfer.

Kevin Chappell – Chappell entered Sunday needing a big round to earn a top 10 finish. Instead, he shot one of the worst scores of the day, a 5-over par 77. In the process, he went from 12-under par and in 13th place to 7-under par and in a tie for 62nd place.
