3M Open: Koepka… Chase Koepka ties lowest round of the day
The lowest score of the final round, and the entire 3M Tournament, would be shot by Koepka. No…not that one. Chase Koepka.
If you heard that Koepka tied for the lowest round in the entirety of a tournament, it wouldn’t surprise you. What would surprise you? If that at the 3M Open, it wasn’t Brooks that did it, but his brother, Chase Koepka.
There were a handful of players to shoot 63 this week at TPC Twin Cities. The most surprising one came at the conclusion of the tournament. What makes it more impressive is that out of the five players to shoot 63, Chase was the only one to do it with a clean round.
Chase Koepka’s round of 63 to finish the 3M Open wasn’t just his best round as a professional, it also lead to his best finish on the PGA Tour.

No bogeys. Eight birdies. A fantastic way to end the week, especially a day after shooting +1 72, and finding yourself miles away from the top of the leaderboard.
Once Chase was able to turn in his card, and later on when the tournament was said and done, he is able to bring home a paycheck that many people would be happy to see on their year-end returns. He would make just over $48K, nearly making it into the top 25 of the tournament.
It’s tough to find much information on Chase with a cursory glance online. He doesn’t even have a page on the PGA Tour site, as it defaults to LatinoAmerica for his information. Wiki doesn’t do it either, as you can read more about Brooks shunning his girlfriend than you can about the entirety of Chase’s career.
It has to be tough living in the shadow of a robot, and one that has had a more successful career. Chase is only 26 though, so he has plenty of golf left in front of him. We’ve seen loads of golfers find their groove after getting to their mid to late 20’s… so why can’t Chase Koepka be next?
