Find out which players were winners and which were losers in the Tour Championship, including Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas and Bryson DeChambeau.

Each week on the PGA Tour, there are winners and losers in each tournament. This week, and continuing throughout the season, we will look at those who achieved and those who underachieved at each event. Here’s a look at the winners and losers from the Tour Championship.

Winners

Dustin Johnson – He was the best player throughout the FedEx Cup playoffs and he finished it off by winning the FedEx Cup on Monday at East Lake. DJ blew away the field this week, showing that he’s the best player in the world at this point.

Justin Thomas – He did his best to catch DJ, but that was not going to happen this week. Thomas was victimized by a 71 on Saturday. Otherwise, he shot 66 in each of the other three rounds. Still, Thomas finished just three shots back and in a tie for second place.

Xander Schauffele – Had the playing field been even heading into the week, Schauffele would have been the winner. He was 15-under par on the course, better than anyone else in the field. Even with a seven-shot deficit to start the week, Schauffele worked his way into the mix and gave DJ a run for his money.

Collin Morikawa – The season’s only major championship winner, so far, shot 71 in the first round, but rallied to shoot 65-67-69 to finish in a tie for sixth at the Tour Championship. Morikawa has the talent to win a FedEx Cup one day, and this was a good first experience for him at East Lake.

Scottie Scheffler – In his first Tour Championship, Scheffler started slowly, but finished strong. His 71-66-66-65 score showed improvement every day and resulted in a solo fifth-place finish. The 24-year-old will make many more trips to East Lake during his career and could one day be a FedEx Cup winner.

Losers

Rory McIlroy – He came out hot in Friday’s first round, shooting a 6-under par 64 to get within striking distance of the lead. But McIlroy could not get anything going after that and faded to eighth place, a full 10 shots behind Johnson. Definitely not the showing he was hoping for this week.

Bryson DeChambeau – It was a disappointing week for DeChambeau, who finished in 22nd place after a disappointing week at East Lake. While he may compete for the FedEx Cup someday, he was a whopping 18 shots behind DJ when this week concluded.

Daniel Berger – It’s been an outstanding year for Berger, but this event ended in not-so-great fashion. After vaulting up the leaderboard on Sunday with a 64, Berger came crashing back to Earth on Monday with a 73. He fell from sixth to 15th in the process.

Joaquin Niemann – The Chilean came into this week fresh off a T3 last week at the BMW Championship. His game appeared to be in fine form and some even saw him as someone who could climb the leaderboard this week. Instead, he finished in a tie for 27th out of 30, a big disappointment for the talented youngster.

Billy Horschel – Someone had to get last this week and Horschel was the unlucky player who did that. Tough to call him a loser in this scenario, but a last place finish is a last place finish. I guess the 2014 FedEx Cup champion can just cash his check and tell me to shut up.
