Fantasy Golf: Sanderson Farms Championship Draftkings Preview
By Hans Geevers
The PGA Tour travels to Mississippi for the Sanderson Farms Championship. Let’s take a look at this event from a fantasy golf perspective!
Before I get into my Fantasy Golf Draftkings picks, let’s take a quick at the golf course the field will be playing and the key statistics I will be focusing on for this week’s event.
The 2019 Sanderson Farms Championship will be played at the Country Club of Jackson. This track is a par 72 that measures approximately 7,421 yards. This track can best be described as a resort-style golf course. Due to the fact this is a resort course, you can expect that the course will be vulnerable to low scores this week. This golf course also features champion bermuda grass greens.
It should be noted that this event has been played at the Country Club of Jackson for the past seven years.

The key statistics I will be looking at this week are strokes gained putting, GIR (greens in regulation), strokes gained ball striking, and proximity to the hole from 100-125 yards.
Here are my Draftkings/fantasy golf player selections for the Sanderson Farms Championship!
Scottie Scheffler $11,400
Scheffler arrives at this week’s event on the heels of five consecutive top 15 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a fourth-place result at the PGA Championship in August.
*It should be noted that Scheffler was unable to play in the U.S. Open due to a positive COVID-19 test. This week’s tournament will be his first event played on the PGA Tour since his positive test.
In relation to this week’s current listed field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Scheffler ranks first in strokes gained tee to green, first in GIR (greens in regulation), and third in strokes gained approach.
Doc Redman $9,700
The 22-year-old American has two top-three finishes in his last four events on the PGA Tour, including a third-place result at the Safeway Open three weeks ago.
In relation to this week’s current listed field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Redman ranks sixth in GIR (greens in regulation), eighth in strokes gained putting, and 17th in strokes gained approach.
Denny McCarthy $7,900
He finished ninth at the Wyndham Championship last month. I also like the fact that McCarthy has shown an ability to play at a high level at this week’s event. To be more specific, Denny has two previous top 18 finishes at the Sanderson Farms Championship.
Brian Stuard $7,500
The American finished third at the Safeway Open last month. Stuard also finished fourth at the 2018 Sanderson Farms Championship.
In relation to this week’s current listed field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Stuard ranks seventh in proximity to the hole from 100-125 yards and eighth in strokes gained on par fives.
Beau Hossler $7,200
Hossler finished 23rd at the Safeway Open three weeks ago. Additionally, Hossler finished tenth at the 2018 Sanderson Farms Championship.
Cameron Percy $7,200
The 46-year-old Australian has three top 25 finishes in his last four events on the PGA Tour, including an eighth-place result at last week’s Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship.
As always, good luck with your fantasy golf lineups.
