2020 Masters: Notable tee times, Tiger, Rory, Bryson and more
The tee times for the 2020 Masters have been released. Here are some of the notable starting times for this year’s major at Augusta.
Before we get into looking at the tee times for the 2020 Masters, we have to talk about the setup for this year’s event. Due to a lack of daylight, they can’t send everyone off the first tee, and have to do a split.
The Masters is going to start off with Sandy Lyle, Jimmy Walker, and Yuxin Lin teeing off at 7:00 AM from the tenth hole, headline by Lyle, who won back in 1988 and recently played a round with DeChambeau. Lucas Glover, Corey Conners, and C.T. Pan will be going off the 1st tee at the same time.
This means that we are going to see half of the ~95 person field go off of the 10th tee, including our defending champion Tiger Woods. There will also be a break from just after 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM, letting the morning groups get through before the secondary groups start. All times listed will be Augusta local time, which is in the Eastern Time Zone.

07:55 AM – 10th hole – Tiger Woods, Shane Lowry, Andy Ogletree
If you are on the west coast and want to watch Tiger try to defend his Green Jacket, you are going to have to wake up plenty early to do so. He is going off with Lowry, who most notably won the Open Championship back in 2019, and due to this year’s circumstance, is also a defending major champion. They will be playing with Andy Ogletree, who is the most recent U.S. amateur champion, continuing the tradition of said winner playing with the defending Masters Champ.
7:33 AM – 10th hole – Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, Louis Oosthuizen
Holy cow. If you are ready to get your morning going, you get to see three high power groups following each other off the 10th hole. It starts with Rahm, Beefy Bryson, and Louis. Then Reed, Casey, and Finau, before being followed by Tiger. Oh, Spieth, Woodland, and Poulter follow them, so you could argue four groups.
Can Rahm compete at the Masters after showing incredible runs throughout his early career? Will Louis replicate anything at all like his albatross at the Masters in 2012? The biggest question, and likely the most interesting facet of the weekend after Tiger Woods is Bryson, and how his setup will play vs the course.
11:27 AM – 1st hole – Phil Mickelson, Abraham Ancer, Bernd Weisberger
11:27 AM – 10th hole – Bubba Watson, Matthew Wolff, Tommy Fleetwood
This tee time has the largest group of characters and talent combined throughout the day. Phil, now 50, is looking to do something that has never been accomplished on the PGA Tour, and win a major after turning 50.
On the other side of the course, Bubba looks for an improbably third Green Jacket. He’s joined by arguably the most talented young player on the Tour in Wolff, and Fleetwood, who loves to shoot three rounds in the mid-60s and one in the mid-70s.
11:38 AM – 1st hole – Adam Scott, Collin Morikawa, Tyrrell Hatton
Would you believe that Hatton only has one PGA tour win? He’s joined by Morikawa, who looks to dethrone Tiger and earn his second major win in 2020. Scott will be looking to earn his second green jacket, having previously won in 2013.
Noon – 1st Hole – Dustin Johnson, Patrick Cantlay, Rory McIlroy
The group going off at noon at the first hole is likely the most talented one that will tee off together all day. Cantlay has been one of the best golfers in the world and is coming off not just a win at the Zozo, but at T-9th at last year’s Masters. DJ was the favorite last year before slipping and hurting himself and comes in as the #1 golfer in the world. Then there is Rory, who is looking to get the monkey off his back at the Masters, and the lack of patrons could help.
For Day Two, Players will play the opposite of their day one position. Morning back nines become later front nines. If you missed Tiger early on day one, you can watch him and his group go off the first tee at Noon Eastern.
Best of luck to everyone at this years Masters. Make sure to tune in at 7:00 to see Conners and Sandy Lyle and crew be first off the tee(s).
