Draftkings will provide the fantasy golf community with a large number of contests for this week’s RSM Classic.

Before I dive into my fantasy golf/Draftkings player selections, let’s briefly take a look at the RSM Classic’s format and the key statistics that I am focusing on for this tournament.

The first two rounds of the RSM Classic will have the entire field of competitors play two different golf courses. The two courses the field will play in the opening two rounds are the Plantation course and the Seaside Course at the Sea Island Golf Resort in Sea Island, Georgia.

After the completion of two rounds, the traditional cut will occur and the top 65 players and ties will move on to the weekend. The final two rounds of golf will be played exclusively on the Seaside course.

It has to be said that the Plantation course is the least difficult test. Traditionally, the field tends to post low scores on the Plantation golf course. In direct contrast to Plantation, the Seaside course is a far more difficult challenge.

Due to the fact the field only plays 18 holes on the Plantation course, I will skip going into detail on the specifics of that track. Let’s briefly look at the Seaside course that will see the majority of competitive golf this week. The Seaside course is a coastal track. The course’s main defense is the weather. When the weather presents strong winds, etc., scores tend to be much higher. However, when the weather is calm, PGA Tour players can perform very well on this golf course.

I should also note that the Seaside Course is a par 70 that measures 7,005 yards. Additionally, the golf course has nine water hazards and features Bermuda grass greens.

The key statistics I am focusing on this week are strokes gained ball striking, GIR (greens in regulation), and strokes gained putting.

Here are my fantasy golf/Draftkings player selections for the RSM Classic!

Russell Henley $10,100

The 31 year old American arrives at this week’s event on the heels of seven consecutive top 29 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a third place finish at the CJ Cup @ Shadow Creek last month.

In relation to this week’s current listed RSM Classic field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Henley ranks first in bogey avoidance, first in strokes gained ball striking, first in strokes gained approach, and sixth in driving accuracy.

Brian Harman $8,500

The American has four consecutive top 28 finishes on the PGA Tour. Harman’s best finish in the four event span just mentioned was a 13th place result at the Shriners Hospitals For Children Open last month.

Doc Redman $8,000

Redman finished third at the Safeway Open in September. More recently, Redman finished fourth at the Bermuda Championship three weeks ago.

It should also be noted that Redman finished 23rd at the 2019 RSM Classic.

Russell Knox $7,200

Knox arrives at this week’s event on the heels of two consecutive top 16 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a 15th finish at the Houston Open two weeks ago.

In relation to the current listed RSM Classic field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Knox ranks fifth in GIR (greens in regulation) and ninth in proximity to the hole.

Matthew NeSmith $7,000

The 27 year old has two top 17 finishes in his last three events on the PGA Tour, including an eighth place result at the Shriners Hospitals For Children Open.

Additional golfers I like this week: Talor Gooch $7,900: Austin Cook $7,500.

As always, good luck with your fantasy golf lineups.
