The FanSided 250 list was released earlier today, and one of the biggest stars in golf was snubbed. None other than Bryson DeChambeau.

Before we get into Bryson DeChambeau being snubbed on this year’s FanSided 250, there is a mild disclaimer. This isn’t a list of the most famous people/events/teams in the world. It’s about the fans surrounding said entrant.

That being said… IT’S BEEFY BRYSON. Bryson DeChambeau is one of the most polarizing people in not just golf but in all sports.

There is no reason that he shouldn’t be on the list of the 250 that FanSided came up with. Think back to everything that Bryson has been involved in over the last year, and how much traction both he and the changes to his game and the sport have gained.

We saw him come out and just absolutely start trying to annihilate golf balls. If someone was ever going to pull a Roy Hobbs and knock the cover off of a golf ball instead of a baseball, Bryson DeChambeau would be the one to do it.  He was getting ball speeds over 200 MPH on a fairly consistent basis, carries over 350, and driving the green on par 4’s that had never been seen before.

It wasn’t just that he was trying to, and frankly, succeeding in successfully hammering the ball. It’s that he was playing well while doing it, competing in tournaments, and showing up when it mattered.

He had a stretch earlier this year where he went T-5th, 2nd, 4th, T-3rd, T-8th, T-6th, and finished it off with a win at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. What’s more impressive about this stretch is that he played the first three events before the season was postponed, and the last four were once it came back.

Yet, that wasn’t even his best play of the year. That would come only a few months ago. In August, he would T-4th at the PGA Championship, and then just a few months later, he would dominate the field at the U.S. Open, winning by six shots to take home his first career major.

DeChambeau is a polarizing figure. One who will come out and say crazy things (like Augusta being a par 67 to him), put ideas into the ether that we have never seen, and then go out and perform and back them up. With all the intrigue, drama, success, and followers around him, there is no reason that Bryson DeChambeau should have been left off of the FanSided 250. Snub indeed.
