This week, the LPGA Tour presents fantasy golf fans with the 2020 U.S. Women’s Open. Let’s take a look at this tournament from a DFS perspective!

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide a specific lineup. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a Draftkings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my Draftkings player selections for the 2020 Women’s U.S. Open!

Danielle Kang $10,700

The 28 year old American arrives at this week’s final major championship in outstanding form. Let me be more specific. Kang has played 11 events on the LPGA Tour this season. In those 11 events played, Kang has an impressive eight top 12 finishes, including two wins (2020 LPGA Drive On Championship, 2020 Marathon LPGA Classic).

Kang also checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Kang is currently ranked fourth in GIR (greens in regulation-73.17%), second in putts per GIR (1.75), third in scoring average (69.59), and sixth in total birdies made (171) on the LPGA Tour.

It should also be noted that Kang has performed well at major championships in the past. The American won the 2017 Women’s PGA Championship and finished fourth at the 2018 U.S. Women’s Open.

So Yeon Ryu $9,400

The 30 year old South Korean fired a third round 65 at last week’s Volunteers of America Classic on her way to an eventual second place finish.

Ryu has won two major championships in her career. Ryu won the 2017 ANA inspiration and the 2011 U.S. Women’s Open.

Ally Ewing $8,800

The 28 year old has four top 13 finishes in her last five events played on the LPGA Tour, including a win at the LPGA Drive On Championship @ Reynolds Lake in October.

Ewing is currently ranked seventh in GIR (72.11%), 14th in scoring average (70.82), and first in total birdies made (181) on the LPGA Tour.

Stacy Lewis $7,400

Looking for some fantasy golf value, I am going to roll with 35 year old Stacy Lewis. The American has five top 28 finishes this season, including a win at the Ladies Scottish Open in August. More recently, Lewis finished fifth at the ANA Inspiration in October.

Another reason I like Lewis is she has shown previously in her career that she can handle the pressure of contending at major championships. That can clearly be illustrated in her previous results at major championships, including two wins (2013 Women’s British Open, 2011 Kraft Nabisco Championship).

Cheyenne Knight $7,200

Another fantasy golf value I like this week is Cheyenne Knight. Knight has five top 25 finishes on the LPGA Tour this season, including a second place result at the Ladies Scottish Open.

Yes, I know that Knight has not had great results at major championships previously. However, it has to be mentioned that Knight is a Houston native. This week’s Women’s U.S. Open will be played at the Champions Club in Houston, Texas. Knight has reported that she has played the two courses that will be played at this week’s Women’s U.S. Open multiple times. In my opinion, Knight’s course knowledge will definitely be an advantage this week.

Additional golfers I like this week: Sei Young Kim $11,000: Lexi Thompson $9,100: Pauline Roussin-Bouchard $6,400.

As always, good luck with your fantasy golf lineups!
