Tiger Woods: The golf world has lost their mind on Charlie Woods
After the PNC Championship, you can now place bets on Tiger Woods son, Charlie, to win a major.
I understand all the hubbub around Charlie, Tiger Woods son. He looked great over the weekend playing in the PNC Championship with his old man and hit some incredible shots.
You can see why Tiger has kept his son, for the majority at least, out of the spotlight. People have been Tiger Woods crazy for the majority of his life. He’s an adult though, and not an eleven-year-old.
It’s been nice to hear that Tiger hasn’t been pushing his son overly hard, which is a trap that many can fall into. The main reason they played in the PNC this year was that Charlie got the golf bug… and he likes to mess with Justin Thomas, even when it’s on the course. At the end of the day, it seemed like Tiger truly was just happy to be out there with his son, taking part in an activity that they can both enjoy, which is up there on the list of every dad’s dream.

People need to take a step back though because gambling on him is taking it a step too far.
There are people out there who are betting on multiple aspects of Charlie Woods PGA Tour career. You know, even though he is only 11 years old, and likely an entire decade (at the minimum) from joining the PGA Tour.
Interested in making a bet on him making the Tour? Or the year that he is going to debut? Yup, they have both of those covered. For the record, I don’t really condone gambling on 11-year-olds, so I’m not going to list the odds. If you are that interested, you can go find them yourself. Heck, you probably already know.
Do you think he can win a major? Or, taking it a step further, do you think he can do it before turning 22, just like his old man? Yup, those are both out there as well.
It’s going to be tough enough being the son of one of the most famous athletes in history. It hasn’t worked out that often in the past with the sons of all-time greats making it. Sure, there are cases like the Bell’s in baseball, or the Barry’s in basketball, or the Hull’s in hockey. Griffey’s dad played baseball, and so did big head Bonds, but they were good players. Not elite.
More often than not, they flame out due to the pressure that is laid upon them… and the fact that going pro in a sport is hard enough. Being pressured into competing as one of the greatest of all time who also happens to be your dad is on another level entirely.
When it comes down to it, we should all take the path of Tiger Woods here. Support, being kind, and very little pressure on someone. Most of us could use more of that in our lives anyway.
