Fantasy Golf: Diamond Resort Tournament Of Champions Draftkings Picks

This week, the LPGA Tour returns with the 2021 Diamond Resorts Tournament Of Champions. Let’s take a look at this event from a fantasy golf perspective!

Before I discuss my fantasy golf selections for this week’s LPGA event let’s take a brief look at the golf course and the unique format of this golf tournament.

The 2021 Diamond Resorts Tournament Of Champions will be played at the Tranquilo Golf Course in Orlando, Florida. This course is a par 71 that measures 6,645 yards. This event has been held annually at this golf course since 2019. It should also be mentioned that this golf course is a Tom Fazio design.

This tournament’s field is restricted to LPGA winners of events from the previous two seasons. As of this writing, the current listed field for this event is only 25 golfers. Additionally, this event will not have a cut after two rounds.

Here are my Draftkings/fantasy golf player selections for the 2021 Diamond Resorts Tournament Of Champions!

Brooke Henderson $11,400

The 23 year old Canadian arrives at this event in outstanding form. Since the beginning of September, Henderson has played six tournaments on the LPGA Tour. In those six events just mentioned, Henderson has an impressive five top seven finishes, including a sixth place result at the Women’s PGA Championship in October.

Henderson also checks the box for me when it comes to previous results at this week’s event. Henderson has played the Diamond Resorts Tournament Of Champions twice since 2019. In those two events played, Henderson has two top six finishes, including a fourth place result last year.

Ally Ewing $9,800

Ewing certainly finished her 2020 season in good form. Ewing has two top two finishes in her last four events played on the LPGA Tour, including a win at the LPGA Drive On Championship in October.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2021 Diamond Resorts Tournament Of Champions field, (based on last season’s complete player statistics) Ewing ranks seventh in scoring average (70.943).

Gaby Lopez $8,700

The 27 year old has three top 23 finishes in her last five tournaments played on the LPGA Tour, including a 13th place result at the LPGA Drive On Championship.

Lopex fired a final round 66 at last year’s Diamond Resorts Tournament Of Champions on her way to winning the event.

Brittany Lincicome $7,400

The American has three top 13 finishes in her last five tournaments played on the LPGA Tour, including a ninth place result at the Women’s PGA Championship in October.

Angela Stanford $6,600

Stanford has two top six finishes in her last four events played on the LPGA Tour, including a win at the Volunteers Of America Classic last month. I think Stanford presents outstanding fantasy golf value at a Draftkings of only $6,600.
