Fantasy Golf: AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Draftkings Player Selections
By Hans Geevers
This week, fantasy golf fans will be presented with the 2021 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Unfortunately, the Pro-Am portion of the event will not occur this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Another important change that needs to be noted is that the traditional three course rotation will not be utilized this year due to the fact that the Pro-Am portion of the tournament has been canceled.
This year’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will be contested on two golf courses, the Pebble Beach Golf Links (par 72, 7,051 yards) and Spyglass Hill Golf Course (par 72, 7,041 yards). I should also note that the standard cut will occur after two rounds of competitive play rather than three rounds.

The key statistics that I will be focusing on this week are GIR (greens in regulation), putts per GIR, scrambling and proximity to the hole.
*Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to clearly state that the purpose of this article is not to provide a specific lineup. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a Draftkings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!
Here are my Draftkings/fantasy golf player selections for this week’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Dustin Johnson $12,000
Johnson arrives at this week’s event on the heels of eight consecutive top 11 finishes (PGA and European Tours combined), including a win at last week’s Saudi International.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2021 AT&T Pebble Pro-Am field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Johnson ranks first in strokes gained tee to green, first in strokes gained ball striking, and first in Draftkings points scored.
I also love the fact that Dustin has an outstanding history of playing well at this event. An illustration of his quality results here can clearly be seen in his second place finish at the 2018 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Cameron Davis $9,000
Three weeks ago the talented young Australian shot an impressive final round 64 at the American Express on his way to a third place finish. In my opinion, Davis’s skill set is a perfect fit for the Pebble Beach Golf Links.
Matt Jones $8,100
With my next player selection, I am rolling with 40 year old Matt Jones. Jones has three top 30 finishes in his last four events played on the PGA Tour, including an 11th place result at the Sony Open last month.
Matthew NeSmith $8,000
The 27 year old fired a final round 66 at last week’s Waste Management Phoenix Open en route to an eventual seventh place finish. It should also be noted that NeSmith finished 11th at the 2020 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Ted Potter Jr. $6,800
If you decide to play Potter Jr., I strongly recommend that you NOT take a look at any recent strokes gained models. Potter Jr. is an inconsistent golfer with a limited skill set. Having stated that, the short hitting American can contend on specific golf courses. If you doubt that opinion, just look at the relevant data. Potter Jr. won the 2018 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Potter Jr. does have a recent quality finish on the PGA Tour. Ted finished 18th at the Famers Insurance Open two weeks ago.
Additional golfers I like this week: Jordan Spieth $9,700: Francesco Molinari $9,300: Kevin Streelman $8,900.
