Dominic Bozzelli had one of those days at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am on Thursday. And not in a good way.

Bozzelli, playing Pebble Beach and starting on the back nine, got his round started fairly quietly. He parred both the 10th and 11th holes and everything seemed to be normal.

But the break from normal started on the par-3 12th hole. There, Bozzelli hit his tee shot into the front greenside bunker. His second shot flew the green and landed in a greenside bunker behind the green. From there, he chipped to about 16 feet. His putt missed and he suffered a double bogey.

Bozzelli bounced back immediately. On the par-4 13th hole, he drove it in the fairway and knocked his approach shot about 12 feet from the cup. He rolled in the putt for a birdie to get back to 1-over par.

He would par the 14th, 15th and 16th holes before his adventure continued. Playing the other par three on Pebble’s back nine, Bozzelli again found trouble.

Again, it was a greenside bunker, this one on the 17th hole. Bozzelli was able to get out of the bunker and on the green with his second shot. He had about 30 feet for par. He missed the putt and left himself about seven feet for bogey. He missed that one as well and suffered his second double bogey of the round.

He wasted no time in making another one. On the famous par-5 18th hole, Bozzelli hit his tee shot into the water. His third shot got him into the fairway and his fourth got him to about 121 yards from the green.

Bozzelli’s fifth shot got him on the green, but he was about 40 feet from the hole. He would two-putt from there for his third double bogey of the round. He finished his first nine with a 5-over par 41.

On his second nine, Bozzelli parred the first and second holes. Then at the par-4 third, he drove it in the fairway and hit his approach about 15 feet from the cup. He made the putt for his second birdie of the day, getting back to 4-over in the process.

But the good times would not last.

On the par-4 fourth hole, Bozzelli hit his tee shot into the native area on the right. After taking a penalty and a drop, his third shot left him in yet another greenside bunker. He pitched out to about 43 feet from the hole and needed two putts to record his fourth double bogey of the round.

Bozzelli would close his round with pars on the fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth holes. But his Thursday round will be remembered for his four double bogeys.
