After Daniel Berger won at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, we found a new entrant into the top ten of the FedEx Cup Rankings.

It’s not quite early enough in the season anymore that someone winning can launch all the way to the top of the leaderboard, but getting a win still shows you the importance that it holds when it comes to the FedEx Cup.

With players like Patrick Cantlay, Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele, and Justin Thomas in the top six, it can be hard to pass them, especially when they all have a win sans JT.

Daniel Berger still had a massive leap though, going from 63rd to 10th in the FedEx Cup rankings.

We also have a new leader atop the rankings. Patrick Cantlay turned in another strong week with finishes of 2nd and T-3rd in the last two events. He takes the lead, which means that, once again, Xander Schauffele finds himself in second place.

Not much else has changed in the top ten, as Cantlay hopped from third to first. Dustin Johnson hasn’t been on the PGA Tour for a few weeks, but still took home a win on the European Tour.

The man that Daniel Berger was able to hold off at Pebble Beach made an impressive jump in his own right. Maverick McNealy finished in second place all on his own and jumped all the way from 93rd to 30th. Due to that, he is all but guaranteed to make it to the first round of the FedEx Cup playoffs this fall.

Cameron Tringale is right behind him at 32nd after another strong finish, having gained ~172 points over the last month. To put that in perspective, if he would’ve gained zero points, he would be somewhere around the 70th-75th place.

We may be seeing that Jordan Spieth is back, and thanks to his back-to-back top-five finishes over the last two weeks, he has gained about 277 points, climbing over 100 spots, and is now 64th.

Next up is the Genesis, followed by the dual event weekend of the Puerto Rico Open and the WGC-Mexico. Stay tuned for the next FedEx Cup update after that week, as there will be plenty of movement after two events in the same weekend.
