The PGA Tour continues it’s journey across the west coast this week presenting fantasy golf fans with the 2021 Genesis Invitational. This event is one of the most prestigious golf tournaments on the Tour schedule each and every year. The field for this week’s Genesis Invitational will be far different from last week’s rather weak AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. This start studded field will no doubt present a challenge to the fantasy golf community. Having stated that, let’s get to my Draftkings player selections to see if we can win some money!

*Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to clearly state that the purpose ofthis article is not to provide a specific lineup. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a Draftkings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my Draftkings player selections for this week’s 2021 Genesis Invitational.

Patrick Cantlay $9,600

Cantlay arrives at this week’s event on the heels of three consecutive top 13 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a second place result at the American Express last month.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2021 Genesis Invitational field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Cantlay ranks first in strokes gained putting, fifth in strokes gained tee to green, and fifth in Draftkings points scored.

The California native has historically played well in his home state. I fully expect that to continue this week.

Bubba Watson $8,900

The American has always been a golfer that plays very well on specific golf courses. For example, Bubba has historically played outstanding at Augusta National. For those readers that are not aware, Watson has a number of quality finishes at the Masters, including two wins in 2012 and 2014.

Another golf course that Watson clearly loves to play is the Riviera Country Club which has traditionally hosted the Genesis Invitational. How well has Watson performed at the Genesis? Since 2014, Bubba has won the Genesis Invitational three times (2014, 2016, 2018). I like Watson’s chances to perform well again at Riviera this week. I absolutely love his Draftkings price of $8,900. I think he presents outstanding fantasy golf upside at that price point.

Max Homa $8,200

The 30 year old has four top 21 finishes in his last five events played on the PGA Tour, including a seventh place result at last week’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Carlos Ortiz $7,800

Ortiz has four top 14 finishes in his last six events played on the PGA Tour, including a fourth place result at the Waste Management Phoenix Open earlier this month. Additionally, Ortiz finished ninth at the 2019 Genesis Invitational.

Kyoung-Hoon Lee $7,100

The South Korean fired a final round 68 at the 2021 Waste Management Open on his way to a second place finish. I also like the fact that Lee has performed well at the Genesis Invitational in the past. To be more specific, Lee finished 13th at the 2020 Genesis Invitational.

Additional golfers I like this week: Dustin Johnson $11,300: Luke List $7,300.
