The Genesis Invitational hosts the strongest field of 2021 to date as the PGA tour makes one last stop as part of its California swing before heading East.

Pebble Beach did not disappoint in delivering another exciting finish this past weekend. Late Sunday rolled around and there were no fewer than a handful of players within two or three shots of the lead as the leaders made the turn onto the back nine.

In the end, it was Berger and Lashley who were neck and neck before Nate, unfortunately, proceeded to implode on the 16th with a triple bogey. From there it was in Daniel’s hands and man did he deliver with an emphatic long-range Eagle putt on the last that clinched his second victory on Tour in the last seven months.

Norlander made an early run for us in round one and Streelman looked like he was going to place himself in contention on Sunday but both again faded when it counted and so we move on.

The Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club

Some of the biggest stars in the game make their way to the land of stars this week and the iconic Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, California.

The legendary Riviera Country Club was established back in 1927 by George C Thomas Jr with the assistance of William P Bell and since its inception has played host to everything from movies to three Major Championships and will even host the upcoming golf portion of the 2028 Olympic games.

The beautifully and intricately designed course has been a regular on the PGA schedule for over 50 years now and it truly does test every aspect of a golfers game with each hole providing a memorable and unique challenge.

The PAR 71 design plays at over 7,300 yards and includes several of the more memorable holes on tour including the PAR 3 6th hole that includes a bunker directly in the middle of it, and the risk-reward short PAR 4 10th hole that entices golfers to go for its small green off the tee and swallows up errant shots with its large bunkers surrounding it.

Also, you must not forget about the famous Kikuyu grass that will no doubt be discussed over the four rounds roughly 500 times!.

The 121 man field this week is by far the strongest of 2021 so far and as this is arguably one of the more prestigious events on the golfing calendar includes most of the Worlds best players including 8 of the current top ten per the Official World Golf Ranking.

Defending champion of last year’s Genesis Invitational Adam Scott will be joined this week by some of the best golfers in the World including, Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Rory Mcllroy, Bryson DeChambeau, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay, Brooks KoepkaTony Finau, and many more in a field that also includes Willie Mack III who will be making his second PGA start after being awarded the Charlie Sifford Memorial Exemption.
