This week, the best golfers in the world will take on the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida at the WGC-Workday Championship. It’s the first World Golf Championships event of 2021 and the field is stacked.

There are a number of groups to watch this week, but here are the top five.

More from Pro Golf Now

Max Homa, Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas (Thursday, 11:31 ET/Friday, 12:37 ET) – Homa is coming off his second PGA Tour win as he took the title at the Genesis Invitational. McIlroy is still one of the best players in the world and is due to have a big performance. Thomas had a bad week last week in Los Angeles, but look for him to bounce back this week.

Collin Morikawa, Joaquin Niemann, Webb Simpson (Thursday, 11:31 ET/Friday, 12:37 ET) – This group has two of the brightest young stars in the game and a talented veteran. Morikawa already has a major championship under his belt and is looking to continue his ascent. Niemann has finished second in two of his last three starts. And Simpson is the ninth-ranked player in the world who already has three Top 10s this season.

Daniel Berger, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka (Thursday, 11:42 ET/Friday, 12:48 ET) – Probably the best pairing for Thursday and Friday. Berger has three Top 10s in his last four starts, including a win at Pebble Beach. Johnson is the number one player in the world and is in contention every time he plays. Koepka won in Phoenix and appears to be getting back to the player he was before his injury issues.

Bryson DeChambeau, Viktor Hovland, Patrick Reed (Thursday, 12:37 ET/Friday, 11:31 ET) – DeChambeau has three Top 10s in five starts this season, although he missed the cut at Riviera last week. Hovland has three Top Five finishes in his last four starts, including a win at the Mayakoba Golf Classic. Reed earned his ninth PGA Tour title in his last start, at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Tony Finau, Hideki Matsuyama, Jon Rahm (Thursday, 12:48 ET/Friday, 11:42 ET) – Finau came oh so close again last week, losing to Homa in a playoff. He has finished fourth, second and second in his last three starts. Matsuyama continues to be a mystery but is still one of the most talented players in the world. Rahm has five Top 10s this season and is the second-ranked player in the world.

It’s a loaded field for sure and should be a lot of fun for golf fans to watch this week.
