This week, the PGA Tour travels to Windermere, Florida for the 2021 Arnold Palmer Invitational. This prestigious golf tournament traditionally attracts many of the best golfers in the world. This year is no different. Having stated that, fantasy golf fans will have a tough task ahead of them as they try to win DFS contests this week. However, it can be done!

Before I discuss my fantasy golf selections, let’s take a quick look at the golf course that will host this week’s PGA Tour event.

More from Pro Golf Now

The Arnold Palmer Invitational will be contested at the Bay Hill Club and Lodge. The golf course is a par 72 that measures 7,454 yards. The track features rather wide generous fairways and minimal rough. This course also presents golfers with a large number of bunkers which are in play on nine of the holes and eight water hazards.

*Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to clearly state that the purpose of this article is not to provide a specific lineup. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a Draftkings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my Draftkings/fantasy golf selections for the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Rory McIlroy $11,500

Since the beginning of September, McIlroy has played nine events (PGA and European Tour events combined). In those nine events just mentioned, McIlroy has eight top 21 finishes, including a six place finish at last week’s WGC Workday Championship @ Concession.

The Bay Hill Club and Lodge golf course features bermuda grass greens. It should be noted that Rory McIlroy has won six PGA Tour events that featured bermuda grass greens. McIlroy is the only golfer in this event’s field that has four or more wins on Bermuda grass greens.

It should also be noted that McIlroy won the 2018 Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Viktor Hovland $10,600

The 23 year old arrives at this week’s PGA Tour event on the heels of four consecutive top six finishes (PGA and European Tours combined), including a fifth place result at the Genesis Invitational two weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2021 Arnold Palmer Invitational field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Hovland ranks first in strokes gained tee to green, first in strokes gained approach, and second in GIR (greens in regulation).

Cameron Tringale $7,700

Tringale fired a final round 67 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am last month on his way to a seventh place finish.

Chris Kirk $7,000

The 35 year old American has three top 16 finishes in his last four finishes on the PGA Tour, including a second place result at the Sony Open in January. Kirk also finished 15th at the 2019 Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Bo Hoag $6,200

Hoag has four top 36 finishes in his last five events on the PGA Tour, including a 16th place result at the American Express last month. I know that his recent results may not pop off the page for you. However, at a Draftkings cost of only $6,200, Hoag only needs to finish inside the top 35 to justify his inclusion in your fantasy golf lineup.

Next. Jordan Spieth: 2021 FedEx Cup Contender or Pretender?. dark

Additional golfers I like this week: Matthew Fitzpatrick $9,800: Billy Horschel $8,900: Keegan Bradley $7,000.

As always, good luck with your fantasy golf lineups.
