2021 RBC Heritage: Pro Golf Now Staff Picks to Win
By Tim Letcher
The 2021 RBC Heritage begins on Thursday at Harbour Town Golf Links. Webb Simpson is the defending champion and will be one of the favorites this week as well.
The field is pretty strong, especially coming off last week’s Masters. The world’s number one player, Dustin Johnson, is in the field, along with Collin Morikawa and Patrick Cantlay.

The staff at Pro Golf Now predicts winners each week. Here are our selections for this week’s stop on the PGA Tour.
Abraham Ancer
DJ Cadden
Daniel Berger
Richie Randolph
Patrick Cantlay
West Valentine
I love his control and demeanor, both of which Harbor Town will test.
Josh Mullenix
Cantlay has played this tournament three times. He has three top seven finishes and the best scoring average at the RBC Heritage since 2015 at 68.5. He has 28.932 strokes gained: total at this event since 2017, he’s done everything at Harbour Town except win. And, for what it’s worth, Masters performance doesn’t really impact his performance in this event. Yes, he played well at Augusta in 2019, but missed the cut at the 2018 Masters before finishing in a tie for seventh. Cantlay gets it done this week.
Corey Conners
Chris O’Day
Bill Felber
I’m riding with Corey Conners. He’s played well in his last four stroke play starts including a t8 at the Masters.
Sergio Garcia
Josh Chandler
Sergio Garcia made a charge up the leaderboard during his final round at Harbour Town last June that resulted in a 5th place finish. The Spaniard is typically one of the best ball strikers in the World when he is on and despite having missed the cut at the Masters last week has been playing some really great golf recently with finishes of 5th, 9th, and 32nd in his last three starts before last week.
Charley Hoffman
Kasey Kuhrts
Dustin Johnson
Kathy Bissell
Michael Ellis
Johnson finished last year’s RBC Heritage at -15, placing him in T17, seven shots back of the eventual winner, Webb Simpson. I expect Johnson to get off to a hot start during his morning tee time on Thursday and cruise to a win come Sunday.
Webb Simpson
Tim Letcher
Webb Simpson is the defending champion here and, at a place that loves repeat winners, he will win again this week. Simpson never got much going at Augusta last week but this course fits his eye and it will be enough to earn him another win at Harbour Town.
Mike Randleman
Webb Simpson is a grinder who will churn out high finishes seemingly wherever he goes. But there is a list of courses where he can really contend. Harbour Town is certainly one of them. A place where you don’t need to hit the ball a mile and where precision and control is valued? That’s music to Webb’s ears. Even in warmer, softer and more scorable conditions last year’s pandemic-induced June date brought, Simpson indulged in the birdie fest. The Wake Forest grad fired 65-65-68-64 to set the tournament 72-hole record by two shots. Five birdies in his last seven holes made for a heck of a finish.
