2021 RBC Heritage: How Doc Redman Went 3-8-5-3
By Tim Letcher
Doc Redman had an adventurous day on Thursday at the RBC Heritage. He had one amazing stretch of holes on his first nine that would make even the most veteran score keeper take a second look at his card.
Starting on the back nine, Redman parred the 10th hole. He would bogey the 11th and the 12th to slip to 2-over par.

Redman then parred the par-4 13th hole to remain at that same mark. And that’s when the fun really began.
On the par-3 14th hole, Redman hit his tee shot on the green, about 30 feet from the cup. He lagged his putt for birdie up to about two feet and tapped in for a par three.
The next hole was the par-5 15th, where Redman had a tough time. His tee shot went right into the native area. His second shot was decent, landing about 20 yards from the green.
However, things went south from there.
Redman pitched his ball over the green and into a greenside bunker. For his fourth, he was forced to play away from the pin, hitting his ball out of the bunker and over the back of the green.
For his fifth, Redman pitched his ball through the green and off the front. His sixth shot got him about seven feet from the cup but he missed his putt for double bogey and took a snowman.
At the par-4 16th hole, Redman drove it in the fairway but missed the green to the left with his second shot. His third got him on the green but his par putt from about 10 feet missed. He settled for a bogey five.
Then on the par-3 17th hole, Redman hit the green with his tee shot, which stopped about 30 feet from the hole. His birdie putt just missed and he tapped in for a par three.
For those scoring at home, that was a four-hole stretch that went 3-8-5-3. Redman would shot a 10-over par 81 and currently sits in last place.
