2021 Zurich Classic: Pro Golf Now Staff Picks to Win
By Tim Letcher
The PGA Tour takes a break from regularly scheduled programming this week to bring you a different kind of tournament. The 2021 Zurich Classic is a team format, as PGA Tour pros partner up with other pros in the event.
Jon Rahm and Ryan Palmer won here last year, and that duo is back to defend their title. There are several good teams in this year’s field.

Our staff at Pro Golf Now has made their picks, which you can see below.
Xander Schauffele/Patrick Cantlay

To me, picking Schauffele-Cantlay is a no-brainer. That’s a team with no weaknesses. My only hesitation is that due to its format the Zurich is the least predictable tournament on a very unpredictable calendar.
Mike Randleman
Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele are teaming up at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans for the first time. They’ve been friends for a couple years now having teamed up to go 2-2-0 at the 2019 Presidents Cup. These two combine to be the highest ranked Zurich Classic of New Orleans duo in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Cameron Smith/Marc Leishman
Josh Chandler
“I’m siding with Team Australia as the pick to win this week Both Smith and Leishman have experience playing together after their stint as a team at the World Cup for Team Australia in 2018, and after teaming up for the QBE Shootout last year. The form is there as each come into this week on the back of excellent performances at the Masters and RBC Heritage respectively. Throw in the fact that Cameron has already won this event back in 2017 under the current format and the Aussie’s are poised to shine at the Zurich Classic this week.”

Kasey Kuhrts
Collin Morikawa/Matthew Wolff

Bubba Watson/Scottie Scheffler

Just seems like a super fun team to root for.
Tony Finau/Cameron Champ
Dalton Finkbeiner
Two players who absolutely blast it off the tee. I think their length will give them a lot of wedges into greens which should make for some low scoring. Both have shown they can contend in big events, I think in terms of talent they are one of the top teams in the field.
Jon Rahm/Ryan Palmer

I’ll take the defending champs. Rahm showed in the final round at the Masters just how good he is. Palmer is no slouch either. And the fact that they have won in this format before is enough for me.
