Patrick Cantlay, Viktor Hovland, Justin Thomas (Thursday 7:34 ET; Friday, 12:54 ET) – Cantlay is ranked 12th in the world and has three top-three finishes so far this season, including a win at the Zozo. Hovland has also won this season and continues his rise through the OWGR, currently sitting at 11th. Thomas is the second-ranked player in the world, the FedEx Cup standings leader and the current Players champion.

Reed won at Torrey Pines earlier this season and has risen to the seventh spot in the latest OWGR.
Bryson DeChambeau, Joaquin Niemann, Xander Schauffele (Thursday 12:43 ET; Friday, 7:23 ET) – DeChambeau, the fifth-ranked player in the world. is hoping that Quail Hollow fits his long-hitting game. Schauffele is up to the fourth spot in the world rankings, but has not won in two years. Could this be his week?

He was sixth last week at the Valspar. Rahm is now third in the OWGR but has not yet won this season. However, he has finished in the Top 10 in each of his last four starts. Simpson, who is ranked ninth in the world, was second here in 2015.
Harris English, Rickie Fowler, Ted Potter, Jr. (Thursday, 8:18 ET; Friday, 1:38 ET) – English, ranked 23rd in the world, won at the Sentry Tournament of Champions earlier this season. Fowler won here in 2012 but has not had a great season with zero Top 10s in 15 starts. Potter is the third player in this group. His last win on tour came in 2018.
